I think that in general we are bad at maintaining our bikes unless we are serious long distance cyclists.
However, if we want it to perform well then we need to look after it. It is certainly worthwhile getting it out and serviced and ready for the good weather.
It is a fun and easy way to keep fit for all the family. If only it wouldn’t hurt my bum so much!

I do agree that some of us do neglect in the care for our bikes.
While I am not a long-distance cyclist, I am one who rides 3 miles a day.
I do have my brakes and tires checked and occasionally add air to the tires and lubricate the chain but for the most part my bike shop takes care of the more extensive maintenance.
Bike maintenance is important and it’s a great exercise to keep fit for everybody in your family.
