The Reasons why you Need a Reliable Pedometer:

Walking is important for your health and the more you do the better it is for you. We can calculate how far we walk with a pedometer. It detects motion from your hips or hands. Today’s pedometers are accurate enough through the variations in stride distance and thereby revealing a more precise reading of steps being taken. So what is the best pedometer? Read on to find out!

So you get up in the morning and get ready for your day. Your pedometer will be worn on your wrist or on your belt. (And no, wearing two doesn’t double your steps!) The common goal is 10,000 steps daily. This amount calculates to five miles. So if you’re walking for half an hour at a normal pace, then you will have walked 3,500 steps. This computes to walking one and a half hours to reach the 10,000 step mark.

Why this particular number? Because the American Heart Association says so! They state that 10,000 is the number they recommend for people to lower their risk of heart disease and better their overall health. It is recommended that we all get at least thirty minutes of exercise a day. Thirty minutes is worth your good health!

More is obviously better. 10,000 steps under normal activity throughout the day is most likely going to do it. Some additional walking will be required. You can find out many other ways to add more steps to your day just by adjusting your daily routine. Stairs instead of escalator is one way. For me, the best pedometer is: The 3dTriSport!

What Makes the 3DTriSport Walking Pedometer Stand Out?

I researched pedometers and this is the best out of all in 2020. I like the style of a Tri-axis 3D sensor technology. The Tri-axis allows steps to be measured in any position and gives very accurate results. It can be worn almost anywhere which I really like. Everyone is comfortable wearing a pedometer in different places such as on your belt, around your neck, or in your pocket or carry bag.

Fitness and losing weight are very important so if you’re going hiking, jogging. backpacking, or just going walking for a stroll, the 3DTriSport is perfect for any outing. From the first steps in the morning until bedtime I have a record of all my steps, distances, calories burned and I can revert back to the pedometer when I need to. It works our perfectly for me!

Watch the Video Below for Instructions on How to Operate the 3D Trisport!

Coupled with a healthy diet, the 3dTriSport is what I needed to get on track to getting off my butt and to get moving. Since I started wearing my pedometer, I’ve stepped up my goal of 10,000 steps up to 12,000 steps daily. I want to look at my pedometer and see where I’m at and that helps me strive to reach my goal.

Easiest Ways to Gain More Steps Each Day

  • When you’re on the phone, stand up and walk around while you’re talking. Don’t sit. Walk up and down your stairs too.
  • Go to the mall and get there early and go mall walking. There are mall walkers clubs too.
  • Get to appointments early and walk around a bit.
  • When shopping, walk the around as much as you can. If you’re not in a hurry, then walk around a second time.
  • Do you need something at the store? Leave the car home and walk.
  • You’re at work and when you need the restroom, walk up or down a flight and use the rest room there instead of the restroom on your floor.
  • Find a friend to walk with or make it a family activity after dinner.
  • Do you have yard work to do? Do it yourself instead of hiring someone else. It will save you money and you will get more steps in.
  • Avoid elevators and escalators. Use the stairs. It will help!

Finally, is it Time to get to Steppin’?

What is the Best Rated Pedometer? This is it! Walking is something we all do everyday. You don’t realize how much or how little you walk until you know how many steps you take. Health is important and I hope you enjoyed my review of the 3DTriSport walking pedometer.

  1. Health is so important and I love walking! It is the best exercise because it clears out the mind and the body of excess weight and negativity. I love tracking myself to see how much better I can get and how to improve myself. This pedometer seems awesome! Thank you for the review and for the tips on how to get more steps! /Petra

    • You’re welcome! Walking does clear your mind and gives you such positive energy. I strive for 12,000 steps a day with my 3DTriSport pedometer. It does a great job with all the features it offers. I get in so many more steps each day with all the tips! Thanks for your comment!

  2. I definitely need to get a pedometer to track how many steps I’m taking a day! I feel like I don’t really get 10,000 because I have a sit down desk job. I kind of miss doing primarly warehouse work to get some daily exercise in! But I think it’d be really useful for my health and making sure that I’m getting an adequate amount of exercise throughout the day, because if I didn’t get enough steps in at work, then I could make sure to take a walk to get in my daily step count.

    • I hear ya Brandi. I used to be a designer sitting at the computer all day and couldn’t get the exercise and steps in that I needed everyday. I never knew how many steps I was taking until I got my pedometer. Now I try and hit 12,000 steps a day. While bike riding is my enjoyment, I still try and get those extra steps in and it works. It’s all about getting up and moving. Thanks for your comments!

  3. Thanks for your review here and I personally like the 3DTriSport walking pedometer.

Is it easy to operate as compared to others out there?

How can I make the purchase and how long does it take to deliver to my country?

Great review and thanks for letting me know this brand(3DTriSport Walking 3D Pedometer).

My first time that I’ve heard about this brand indeed.

  4. Great post. I don’t walk much at all, I sit at work and home and drive everywhere. My doctor is telling me I need to do some exercise and the best way to start is walking, I think having a pedometer is the best way to make sure I walk enough.

    Reply
    • I never used to walk that much either so I can relate to you. Doctors shouldn’t have to tell us to exercise, right? But that’s their job. It’s our job and our choice to start exercising. There’s no better and easier way to start than by walking. The 3DTriSport was a great start for me to start keeping track of my steps. Maybe it could do the same for you. Either way, good luck and good health and thank you for your comments!

  5. HI this is a great review and it’s great that you have personal experience of using it to meet your goals.
I do a lot of walking, but I have no idea how much walking I really do unless I am on my treadmill. This would be a great addition to check this out and if necessary, like you did, increase my daily goal for walking. I walk on my treadmill with a 12kg backpack and measure this to improve my capacity for walking. I have not done this outdoors because I have no idea how far it is around my block, to the shops etc. I think I will invest in one sometime soon or get someone to buy me one on my forthcoming birthday. Thanks for the review.

    • I don’t know how I ever got along without my pedometer. Now I know exactly how many steps I take a day and I’m always shooting for 12,000 steps. Just looking at the pedometer makes me strive for my goals and increasing my steps. It’s great that you use your treadmill all the time. I have a foldable exercise bike that I use indoors. But I like to get outside and walk a lot. The 3DTriSport is a very reliable pedometer. Good luck if you do get one! Thank you for your comments!

  6. Thank you for such an informative article! I have been trying to decide what type of fitness monitor I should purchase, and have been leaning towards a fitbit but after reviewing your information here about the 3DTrisport, I may actually try it instead. The price is certainly affordable! If it can’t be worn on the wrist, what is the best way to secure it?

    Reply
    • Hi Maria! I originally looked into the fitbit myself and decided against it because of too many bad reviews. That’s why I chose the 3DTriSport pedometer. It’s very affordable and accurate too. And as far as wearing it? The 3DTriSport has advanced tracking sensors that allow you to have the device anywhere on you, including clipping it to your belt or you can even carry it in your bag without losing any accuracy. Because of this function it means that you won’t have to worry about how or where you wear the pedometer to obtain your stats!

  7. Hi Rob,
Several months ago I was lucky to move to the office that is at a walkable distance from my home, about 15-20 min at a normal pace. This is such a wonderful change, compared to using 2 trains for everyday commute. And so much healthier way!
Looks like this pedometer can be a nice addition to this change. I’ll need to adopt more ways to move, as currently, I spend too much time at my desk.
Thank you for pointing out the pros and cons of this product!

  8. Thanks for this super detailed list! I agree that the benefits of walking are huge and it is really important; I somehow feel like have more energy when I take it upon myself to try walking more, which may sound weird but definitely works. My question is, what is the difference between buying a specialised product like the ones you mention and getting a fitness watch like a Fitbit that can track steps? Thanks

    • Hi Benji, I absolutely believe that wearing the 3DTrisport pedometer has me walking more than ever. This is much healthier when you walk a lot and I feel more energetic as you do. I can answer your question with one word: price! The fitbit is a LOT more expensive than the 3dTrisport. I wouldn’t want to spend $100 for it personally. Thanks Benji 🙂

This is great timing! I’ve been thinking about getting a pedometer so I will keep this one in mind. I’m slowly getting back into jogging and jogging with a stroller (a very different beast entirely). This would be an excellent way to keep up with my miles.

I already do many of the things you mentioned in other ways to get steps in. I can’t remember the last time I was on an elevator really! Exercise is so important! And with how sedentary my work is I need all the moving I can get.

    Thanks for the good review!

  12. Hi, Rob.
This is a great detailed article on how useful a pedometer can be to monitor fitness levels and output. I currently use the pedometer embedded in my smartphone and it’s not bad. But, a pedometer as shown in this article might be far more accurate and nowhere near as expensive as a Fitbit. Good looking out!

    Reply
    • Hey Ken 🙂 I looked at the Fitbit and to be honest the 3DTrisport does just as good a job for a much cheaper price. I also feel it’s more accurate than an app. I guess I just like hooking it on to my belt as I’ve always done. I still feel it’s the best pedometer out there today. Thanks for your comments!

  13. I have been really considering getting something to track my walking. I have been eyeing the Fitbit for a while now, and the only thing holding me back has been the cost. I never thought to just simply get a pedometer! Seems like the best solution, and the price is certainly right. Do you think that is probably more accurate as well compared to a fitbit?

    Reply
    • I thought about the Fitbit as well a while back but like you said because of the price, why do I need to spend that much more money when the 3DTrisport pedometer tracks my steps sufficiently? I don’t need to spend a hundred dollars more for a Fitbit, but that’s me. My pedometer works fine and is very accurate! Thank you for sharing your views 🙂

With the 3DTrisport pedometer, you’ll be sure of keeping track of each and every step along with your other stats. The more you walk and keep track of it, the healthier you’ll be and losing weight is a benefit as well. Thanks for your insights on the 3dTrisport!

  15. Oh, this pedometer looks amazing, I have been using my mobile phone to count my steps lately as I had a heart attack last year so my doctor recommended me to get one but it was easy just to install an app on my phone.

I don’t know if you have ever tried an app to count your steps, but it’s never accurate at all so it was quite confusing getting different results every day walking the same route.

I try to get 20,000 steps in a day so I can keep my heart healthy so having a pedometer would keep me on track so that I wouldn’t get lazy.

The screen does look a little small but I think I could cope with it as I need to make some room for more storage on my phone so to be able to delete the app would help loads.

How accurate is the 3D Trisport Pedometer really? For the price you have to pay I wouldn’t think it would be that good.

    • Hey Matthew,

I bought this pedometer because I did my homework on it and the reviews were awesome! I also tried an app on the phone and it didn’t work well.

I try and do 10,000 steps a day as I bike ride as well. But the more steps the better.

As far as the screen goes? I have NO trouble seeing it at all and it provides all the info you need when you’re walking!

And the 3D TriSport is very accurate! I have never had a problem with it! It’s the best!

      Thank you for your insights!

And I couldn’t agree more that walking is the best exercise. They say you should shoot for at least 10,000 steps a day.

  18. Hi Rob. Thank you for your interesting article on Pedometers. I think we live in a society today where making sure we exercise enough is more important then ever. The easiest and cheapest form of exercise is obviously walking. But just how many steps do we need to take? As you said in your article, the American Health organization states 10,00 steps a day. This figure must be the same the world over as I live in Australia and we’re told the exact same information. I do a lot of walking every day but I’m never sure just how many steps I take, therefore I’ve decided it’s time to purchase a pedometer. I’ll be having a careful look through those you mention in your blog and making a decision based on the information you have supplied. Thanks again. Jim

Now I can count my steps, calories, and clock my time and it’s very accurate. The batteries last a long time and I couldn’t be happier with it.

You’ll be happy with it is well! Thank you for your insight!

  19. Thanks for doing this review. I am in the market for a good pedometer but have been indecisive on which one to actually get since there are too many out there. I love the price for this one and most of all, the accuracy for counting steps. I know that some phones can install apps for this but they are not accurate at all, which kind of defeats the whole purpose. I’m gonna give this one a try and let you know how I like it 🙂 Thanks again for the thorough review. It really helps to read a personal review from someone who has tried it her/himself.

I really think that getting a pedometer is going to have to be the way to go for me because I’m just not taking the walking seriously like I should.  I’ve got the healthy eating down, I eat tons of fruits and veggies and limit my sugar, gluten and dairy, but since I started building my website, I spend way too much time sitting.  Don’t they say that sitting is the new smoking?  I’m thinking if I get a pedometer then I will TRY to walk more because I’ll actually be keeping track and I can set daily goals for myself.  Thanks for the idea!

    • Hey Babs 🙂

The pedometer was a must for me because working on my website, I’m afraid of the “sitting disease” as you mentioned.

I do get on my exercise bike every 20 minutes just to get up and move and give my eyes a break as well.

But I go out walking with my pedometer and this 3D Trisport is awesome! It’s easy to operate, accurate, and very affordable.

Good luck with your walking! Thank you for sharing 🙂

  23. Great post and good info.

This Pedometer looks very good, that it isn’t waterproof isn not such a big deal for me, because me and my wife would use it when we go for a walk, to measure everything.

I like it that we have to reset it manually, I also did this for my bike, so no issue at all.

Also, it is cheap. So I will check it out!

    Thanks for sharing it!

    • Hey Emmanuel,

The 3D Trisport may not be a top of the line pedometer but for me I didn’t need to spend $100 or more for a pedometer.

This does what I need it to do and at a great price too!

I know exactly how many steps I do, the distance, time, etc. Best investment I ever made!

I appreciate your feedback! Thanks 🙂

  24. I sure was reminded of my health when I was diagnosed with diabetes about 15 months ago.  Besides diet I started walking a lot and yes its a real incentive to count your steps.

Personally I wear a Fitbit but this is a great article especially for people who are looking for a pedometer that is more cost effective.

I love this site.  It helps me with lots of my diabetic questions.

    • Hey Dale,

Being diagnosed with diabetes is such a common thing these days.

I find myself walking a lot more now and I needed a pedometer. I wanted to make sure that I get in enough steps everyday.

The 3D Trisport is an excellent pedometer and just what I was looking for. It has the features I need and it very reliable and simple.

It helps with my type 2 diabetes and I can keep records of just what I’ve done each day.

      Thank you for sharing 🙂

  25. I’ve been looking for a stocking stuffer for my mother in law, who has diabetes.  I think this might inspire her to get more exercise.

She does walk with a group around the mall,  called the Silver Sneakers.  But I think she needs to push a little more. It seems like if she new she did 5,000 steps one day, she might shoot for a few more each day.

    Thank you for informed review.

    • Hey James,

I agree that when you have a pedometer and know how many steps you’re taking, you’re more apt to do more than you would without knowing how many.

The 3D Trisport is inexpensive, easy to operate, and gives you your steps. calorie burning, time and distance.

Maybe your mother-in-law will benefit from this awesome pedometer and walk more! It’s great for helping with diabetes.

Appreciate your comments and thank you 😉

  26. I have type 2 diabetes and one of my main exercise is exactly that, walking.  I go for my walk everyday and it keeps my blood sugar levels down (with the help of good intuition and pills of course) to an acceptable level.  I never thought of using a pedometer per se.  I use my cell phone, which is always in my pockets, to track my daily steps, but it often doesn’t get everything I do.  I think that I will take you up on this advantage of having a specific item to count my steps accurately.

I often miss my 10000 steps per day, and maybe by having a pedometer, I would benefit from the accuracy and the caloric count that my cell phone doesn’t do and the fact that it is for one purpose only, not like my cell phone.  The only thing I fear is that I forget to put it on in the morning and miss out on all the steps I take.  Do you have a suggestion or hint on how not to forget?

    • Hi Denis,

With my type 2 diabetes I’m the same way with walking. I’ve found that if I don’t walk everyday, my blood sugars don’t come down.

So it’s always about diet and exercise and a pedometer is a must for me!

I try for at least 5,000 steps a day but they say it should be more like 10,000!

I find the 3D Trisport better than using my Iphone. It’s clipped to my belt and easy to read as I walk when I slip it out of the case.

Here’s my tip: I would clip it to my belt after resetting it, before bedtime and then you’re good to go in the morning!

Thank you for your comments! 🙂

  27. Very informative I walk all the time. Never had one of those might just get one now.

I know 10000 is the number to aim for how much distance is that I know it varies from person to person?

The reason I ask I walk about 2 miles a day. but have never used a step counter.

I agree walking is very important for our health, it the best way to exercise in my opinion.

    • Hey Terry,

Many people just walk and don’t use a pedometer to track everything. But it’s important.

When I first got my 3D Trisport, I was amazed at how much longer I wanted to walk, count my steps, and how many calories I could burn.

The fact is that it gave me the incentive to walk more than 5,000 steps a day and aim for 10,000!

It’s so important to losing weight, staying healthy, and helping control diabetes if you have it.

      Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  28. I’ve been considering purchasing a pedometer. My husband and I love to walk outside but when the weather turns cold, I won’t go out there. I’ve since joined a gym for the winter months and am working on getting my husband there too. I couldn’t help but explore your beautiful site. We just had a full blood test done and found out that my husband is just under diabetes level. This runs in the family. You have some really informative articles on here, I know I’ll visit often.

    • Hi Annette,

It’s great to walk all the time because it’s the best and easiest exercise. Getting a pedometer is a smart idea even if you’re joining a gym.

The reason is that by wearing the 3D Trisport pedometer first thing in the morning, every step you take before, during, and after the gym counts!

If your husband is prediabetic, my website can be extremely helpful for him right now and even if forbid that he develops type 2 diabetes can be very helpful then as well and hopefully he can learn some things here now that can help prevent type 2 diabetes.

But by all means keep walking and pick up the pedometer and shoot for those 10,000 steps daily!

      Thank you for sharing! 🙂

    • Hi Clement!

Thank you! I wanted to find a pedometer that was easy to use, provided the functions I needed, and wasn’t expensive.

The 3D Trisport is the best pedometer that foots the bill! I love this thing!

It gives the time, distance, calories burned, and how many steps you’ve taken.

The 3D Trisport is the best pedometer for the money and the batteries last a long time as well!

I appreciate your thoughts! Thanks! 🙂

  30. I was fortunate enough a few years ago to work for a company that started a program where they rewarded us (albeit minimally) for every step we took during the day. They even gave us all pedometers to measure the number of steps we were logging each day! I was fortunate enough that they gave us 3D Trisports. These are simply amazing pedometers and they get the job done if you’re looking to track steps.

    • Greetings Craig! 🙂

I think that’s just awesome that your company would do that and give you pedometers.

They agreed with my opinion of the 3D Trisport then! It’s a very easy and simple pedometer to operate.

I always shoot for 5,000 steps a day but I want up that to 10,000 which is a lot of steps but the results are worth it…good health!

It’s all about moving. So it’s time to get up and walk more with the 3D Trisport pedometer!

Thank you Craig for your insight! 🙂

  31. I walk 3 kilo metres everyday. I have my phone to measure my steps but I have always wanted a pedometer and I think I have made my decision on which one to buy. After reading this article which explained all the features and everything about Intermittent Fasting I think I am going to go with Intermittent Fasting.

I really like it. It has color options too and the price is very affordable.

Thank you so much for posting this article.

    • It’s great that you walk that much everyday! I used to use my phone to track my steps too, but it didn’t provide all the information that the 3D Trisport pedometer does and it wasn’t as accurate.

Since I picked up the 3D Trisport, it’s given me even more incentive to walk more. I never go anywhere without it now.

Intermittent fasting is something you can choose to do. There are different levels of intermittent fasting too.

I love the fact that this pedometer is extremely affordable as well!

Thank you for your insight! 🙂
