Final Thoughts

So, is celery good for diabetics? Absolutely! I admit that for me, it isn’t the best tasting vegetable when eaten raw. But I don’t mind it cooked and with other vegetables mixed in with stew for example. Raw is best, but I’ll take it any way I can get it, especially in soups. Please add this to your diet because it is healthy and can help you with lowering your blood sugars.

  1. This is literally one of the best-designed websites I have seen on this topic.  Thank you for making this easy to read and everything was in a logical order. It seems like you have put lots of work into creating an excellent post. I wonder how long does it take you to write each post? Great topic and thank you for sharing this information!

    1. Greetings Stephen!

Thank you so much for saying! It’s a fact that raw vegetables such as celery are the best for your blood sugar.

I admit that I do not care for raw celery unless I put something on it. But it doesn’t mean that celery that is cooked is not good for you.

It’s good for lowering your blood sugar along with many other raw vegetables.

And the good thing is that celery provides so many other health benefits for you.

Thank you for your input 🙂

    1. Hey Baard,
Raw celery is the best as far as nutrition goes. You should chop celery just before cooking or serving to maintain nutrients. Even celery that has been chopped and stored for just a few hours will lose nutrients. Steaming celery will retain flavor and almost all of its nutrients. I hope this helps!
      Thanks for asking!

  2. I never knew that there were so many nutrients inside celery!  So much goodness coming out of one little plant, amazing!!

These recipes look amazing and should be a great help for people with diabetes.

So a high sodium content, that’s really interesting.  Who would have thought that would even be in celery?

Eating good food when you have this particular condition is so important, and keeping your blood sugar levels on track naturally is great also.

    Thanks for the great article.

    1. Hi Kris 🙂

Growing up as a kid, I never cared for celery and never knew it was this beneficial for us especially if you’re a diabetic with high blood sugar.

Now as an adult, I realize that if something doesn’t taste too good then it’s healthy for you! 🙂

But celery can help your diabetes by helping to lower your blood sugar. It’s just good for your body, but what vegetable isn’t, right?

Raw celery isn’t my favorite but cooked and in soups, I love it!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! 🙂

  3. Hello Rob,

I just read your article on Is Celery Good for Diabetics, and i got this very helpful. Absolutely! I think it isn’t the best tasting vegetable when eaten raw. But when cooked with other vegetables mixed than it seems tasty. Raw is best, but I’ll take it any way I can get it, especially in soups. i will add this to my diet because it is healthy and can help me with lowering my blood sugars. thank you so much for this informative post.

    1. Hi Tawhid,

I’m glad that my article was helpful for you. I absolutely agree with you that celery is not the most pleasant tasting raw vegetable.

I like it cooked in with my meals and soups.

Raw celery is the healthiest way to have it, but as you say anyway I can take it, I’ll get it!

Why not use the healthiest of vegetables like celery to help lower your blood sugar?

      I appreciate your insight! 🙂

  4. Thanks Rob for this informative post on Celery. I’m hearing of celery for the first time from your blog post. Its great  that you recommend this product based on your experience. it is great to see all the essential nutrients you listed in celery and the numerous advantages of including celery in diet. Thanks for providing the information on how to use celery for diabetes treatment. I noticed you did not mention if celery at all is approved by CDC for use as diabetes treatment. Also, is the product available on amazon? Great post!

    1. Hey Tolu 🙂

You’re very welcome! Celery is a very nutritious vegetable and good for folks with diabetes.

It helps with lowering your blood sugars and controlling your diabetes.

But is by no means a diabetes “treatment.” It just helps with your sugars.

There are many different ways to treat your diabetes, but celery is just one food that can help to control it.

I personally don’t believe that the CDC would approve of any one food as being a “treatment” for diabetes.

I do believe that you can most celery “products” on Amazon with the exception of raw celery itself.

      I hope this helps. Thanks!

  5. Wow… I never knew! I’m not a fan of celery but I think I may need to become one! Celery for diabetes! And hypertension and PMS! And that it is high in sugar….as veggies go… I’m glad you included a recipe and ideas because I was trying to think how I could use it or would I just get a supplement!

I have never heard of  Glucocil. I note your views but what I want to know is whether it is safe to take with other meds like hypertension meds or heart medications?

    1. Hi Liz!

Who knew that celery was so good for you? Well it is and if you’re a diabetic you definitely want celery in your diet!

Of course I’m sure we all know just how hearthy vegetables are for us.

I’m with you and I’m not a big fan of celery either.   But there are ways to get it into our diets.

As far as Glucocil goes, it’s the best supplement for lowering blood sugar and it is absolutely safe as far as I know because I ran it by my doctor first but you should check with your doctor as well.

      Thank you for your feedback!

  6. I love celery. I have a juicer and mixed with carrots & apples in the juicer is deliciously sweet. I have no problem eating it raw with a dip, blue cheese or ranch dressing. My husband’s blood test last November showed he is at risk of adult-onset diabetes which I’m worried about. I really like the mashed celery root dip and will give it a try. Thanks for this information. Good to know!

    1. Hi Annette 😀

Celery is really good for you especially when you have diabetes.

I’m not a big fan of the raw celery, but love it cooked in soups and other dishes.

I remember as a kid putting a bit of salt on my celery and that wasn’t too bad.

But it helps lower your blood sugars and to control your diabetes.

Fruits and vegetables such as celery are always the heaviest foods for you!

I appreciate your comments! Thank you!
