  2. Hello Rob, I have been really bad at taking care of my health lately, and it’s be neatly glaring to me now that I have been dealing with some issues. I have been told not to get dehydrated for some reason but I don’t pay close attention to it. Seeing this article have made this clear and now I know how important it is to always be hydrated and by the way I really didn’t know what an electrolyte was before this article.

      Sometimes we all don’t do what we should when it comes to our health. I know I’m guilty of it for sure.

      But your body needs electrolytes and when you exercise or workout, you lose electrolytes and you need to replenish them.

      It’s important as you say to not get dehydrated. It’s always vital to drink lots of water, but sometimes Gatorade (not too much because of sugar) can help to get your electrolytes back up.

      But one thing that can be best for replacing those electrolytes is coconut water. This is especially important when you have diabetes.

      Diabetics must be extra careful about losing electrolytes. Again, try coconut water because it’s about the best!

  3. As a type 2 diabetic, I struggle with maintaining good blood glucose levels. I mostly drink water during my workouts, but I sometimes get weak and dizzy afterwards perhaps because I need to be replacing eletrolytes while I workout?

    As a diabetic, I am very interested in anything that can help me manage my blood sugar. I am on three medications currently: Metformin, Trulicity and Basaglar. It really hate being on them, but for the time being, they are keeping me from having crazy high blood sugars.

    I do not find any of these types of Coconut water in my local store? Do you have a recommendation for where they can be purchased? I have never tried coconut water, but sure would like to try it. I am not sure a raw coconut will be very easy for me to use!

    Maybe I missed it, but do I drink the coconut water or other electrolyte enhanced water during my workout? Or after? or Both?

      Sorry to hear that you’re a diabetic. I know all too well what type 2 diabetes is and what it does to you.

      Losing electrolytes while exercising is normal, but important to replace them after you stop exercising.

      I too, drink a ton of water, but coconut water and Gatorade are good replacements.

  4. I know the importance of electrolytes, specially after training. I have always been a bit concerned about using these sport drinks but they have been in my daily life for several years. However, I have started to feel their negative effect. I’ll switch to сосоnut wаtеr and give it a try for several weeks. It’s reasonable to expect healthier results from this switch. Thank you!

      Yes, electrolytes are that important especially after training and working out.

      There are some sports drinks that are not good so it’s important to stick to the ones such as Gatorade.

      They really make a difference when you deplete yourself of electrolytes and not even realizing it.
