    It looks like the DASH Diet would be a more healthy alternative for anyone even if they weren’t suffering from any form of illness or diabetes. I think one of the number one things and my doctor keeps telling me is the veggies! Gotta get those vitamins and minerals! 

    One thing I am curios about is, the DASH diet is high in роtаѕѕium, mаgnеѕium, саlсium, рrоtеin аnd fibеr, аnd lоw in fаt аnd сhоlеѕtеrоl саn drаѕtiсаllу rеduсе high blооd рrеѕѕurе. This is the main reason I am looking into it. 

    Can you say if it would be ok to continue taking a regular over-the-counter multivitamin while on this diet or would that overload on some of the vitamins? Would the DASH diet be safe to try while on regular blood pressure meds?

    I am looking to change my lifestyle and eating habits to promote a life long enough to enjoy my grandkids. Thanks for helping out!

    • Hey Chad, yes I agree that the dash diet is a diet that’s healthy for just about anyone no matter what their issue is but they should always check with your doctor first.

      Yes this diet is particularly geared toward high blood pressure. That’s why it’s so important to check with your doctor first especially if you are on blood pressure medications.

      As far as over-the-counter multivitamins go I would think that it would be safe to still take them but again I would definitely check with your doctor on this first.

      The dash diet is definitely something that can help you if you have diabetes too.

  2. Great article on the dash diet and I’ve learned so much.  I’ve heard of other diets like keto, paleo, vegan and such so this is new to me.  I need to lower my blood pressure so I will be using this diet asap.  Thanks for this great info.  How long does it take to see results?

      Yes the keto, Paleo, and vegan diets are also very good diets to be on and are very popular.

      The key to the dash diet is that it can definitely help lower your blood pressure and that’s important. But it is something that I would check with my doctor first before you begin starting it.

      And it is a good diet that can help you if you have type two diabetes.

      As far as how long it takes to see results? That would depend on the individual. Because everybody is different and it does take different amounts of times for different situations.
